- Lab Safety & Hazardous Materials (Chem 4)
- General Chemistry (Chem 1)
- General Chemistry Laboratory (Chem 2)
- Engineering Physics I (Phys 23)
Mathematics
- Pre-calculus classes, if needed*
- Calculus for Engineers I (Math 14)
- Calculus for Engineers II (Math 15)

** Missouri S&T engineering students are required to take several humanities and social sciences courses, including history (History 112, 175, 176 or Political Science 90), economics (Econ 121 or 122) and several electives. You'll take two of these courses freshman year.
Complete descriptions of each of the courses listed above as well as additional requirements for specific engineering majors can be found in the Missouri S&T undergraduate catalog: http://registrar.mst.edu/cataloginfo/cataloginfo.html
Freshman engineering students may state a preference for a major in a particular engineering field prior to completing the freshman engineering requirements, if desired. This stated preference is used in the consideration for freshman scholarships, if available, in the preferred department. After successfully completing the freshman engineering requirements, you'll formally apply for admission to a specific engineering department.
